In this quest, Geralt's nature is tested: He must choose whether or not to save a village from Kikimoras or grab a pile of treasure and also whether or not to give alms to beggars. He also encounters some bruxae.

Tagebucheintrag

Geralt hatte erst einmal im Leben Ausrüstungsgegenstände nach Schemas der Mantikor-Schule gesehen. Außerdem war der Ausrüstungssatz nicht vollständig und noch dazu ziemlich abgenutzt gewesen. Als sich die Gelegenheit ergab, Ausrüstung der Mantikor-Schule auf Großmeisterstufe zu erlangen, brach der Hexer sofort auf, um alles Nötige zu besorgen.

Gewiss hat niemand erwartet, dass der Eigentümer der Schemas, der Hexer Merten, tatsächlich und aufrichtig zum Glauben an den Propheten Majoran konvertiert war. Geralt verfolgte Mertens Geschichte nach und staunte, wie pervers das Schicksal doch sein konnte. Doch lange dachte er nicht darüber nach, schließlich hielt er einen vollständigen Satz Hexerschemas der Mantikor-Schule in Händen. Jetzt musste er nur noch einen Handwerker finden, der dieser anspruchsvollen Aufgabe gewachsen war.

• Search the ruins of Bastoy Prison.
• Read the prisoner's notes.

Randnotizen

• Not giving the beggars alms, and not helping the man in distress at the Finstersenke cave, does not seem to change the outcome of the encounter with the Mystery Man, that reminds Geralt of the Prophet Lebioda. But choosing the "bad" paths will make it more difficult to get to the final diagram.
